On July 22-29, European Weightlifting Championship, among young boys and girls U15-17, continues in Milan, Italy. In the tournament, which are attended by 388 athletes from about 40 countries (169 girls and 219 boys), the members of Azerbaijan National team will get on the platform.
Two more members of National team-Ali Shukurlu and Ali Guliyev tested their powers among U-15 boys, in 94kg weight category.
Our athlete took 4th place with 112kg result in snatch and was 8th with 130kg result in clean and jerk. Guliyev was 6th with a total of 242kg (112+130) result in the European Championship.
Ali Shukurlu performed well. In snatch, he won bronze medal of European Championship with 120kg result. Shukurlu was able to achieve the same success in clean and jerk and got bronze medal with 145kg result in this movement. It should be noted that despite Ali lifted 152kg in his 3rd attempt of this movement, the referees did not count the attempt.
In the final rankings of 94kg weight category, Ali Shukurlu could get on the honorary chair taking the 3rd place with a total of 265kg (120+145) result.
