Islamic Games Weightlifting competitions to be held in Baku, on May 12-22, started. 130 athletes from 21 countries will get on the platform. There are 51 women, 79 men among them. Azerbaijan National Team will compete with full staff- 16 persons ( 8 women and 8 men).
Today, women in 48 kg weight category got on the platform. In this weight category, Azerbaijan is represented by Marziyya Maharramova. In snatch, Marziyya lifted 66 kg and in clean and jerk, she could lift 85 kg. Maharramova took the 6th place with total 151 kg (66+85) result.
