On July 27-28, Azerbaijan Weightlifting Championship amidst youth U-15 and 17 completed in the competition hall of Shuvelan Weightlifting Academy. Nearly 150 young athletes representing sport clubs and communities from all regions of the country participated in the competition.<\/p>\n

In conclusion, boys U-17 in 81, 89, 96,102 and +102kg bodyweight categories have been on the platform. Gold medals were grabbed by Isa Hasanli with 267kg (115+142), Tarmenkhan Babayev with 323kg (146+177), Kenan Zamanov with a 215kg (100+115) total, Ali Shukurlu with 296kg (131+165), and Rehman Kazimov with a total of 265kg (120+145), in 81, 89, 96, 102 and +102kg bodyweight categories, respectively.<\/p>\n

The object of the competition is to identify the strongest young athletes in the country, to promote and develop weightlifting, to strengthen the ties of friendship, to increase the skill level of athletes, as well as to prepare for the upcoming international competitions.<\/p>\n
