The second competition day of Azerbaijan Weightlifting Championship amidst youth U-15 and 17 started in the competition hall of Shuvelan Weightlifting Academy. Nearly 150 young athletes representing sport clubs and communities from all regions of the country participate in the competition.<\/p>\n

Boy athletes U-15 in 67, 73 and 81kg bodyweight categories were first to get on the platform. The triumphants of championship were Nurlan Mammadzadeh in 67kg bodyweight category with a 230kg (105+125) total, in 73kg category Abdulmatin Ismayilov with 200kg (90+110),and Zaur Huseynov with a total of 201kg (88+113) in 81kg bodyweight category.<\/p>\n

The object of the competition is to identify the strongest young athletes in the country, to promote and develop weightlifting, to strengthen the ties of friendship, to increase the skill level of athletes, as well as to prepare for the upcoming international competitions.<\/p>\n
