On July 27-28, Azerbaijan Weightlifting Championship amidst youth U-15 and 17 kicked off in the competition hall of Shuvelan Weightlifting Academy. Nearly 150 young athletes representing sport clubs and communities from all regions of the country participate in the competition.<\/p>\n

Initially, the girls U-15 and 17 boarded the platform. Absolute winners have been determined according to the Sinclair table. In the struggle of girls up to 15 years old, Fidan Mirzezadeh was gold medalist with a total of 146 kg (65+81) result and 190.4 Sinclair point. The next places were taken by Seljan Garayeva and Fazila Imanova with 112kg (47+65) and 187.8 point, and 117kg (52+65) and 166.3 point, respectively.<\/p>\n

Anna Opanasyuk triumphed with a total of 140kg (61+79) and 192.1 point in the girls U-17 competitions. Gunel Mukhtarli finished second with 111kg (50+61) and 180.2 point, while Chinara Ibrahimli came third with a lift of 108kg (48+60) and 141.5 point.<\/p>\n

The object of the competition is to identify the strongest young athletes in the country, to promote and develop weightlifting, to strengthen the ties of friendship, to increase the skill level of athletes, as well as to prepare for the upcoming international competitions.<\/p>\n
