On May 11-12, the second day of Azerbaijan Weightlifting Championship among juniors under 20 and 23 launched in the competition hall of Shuvelan Weightlifting Academy. Athletes of 67 kg bodyweight category were first to board the platform.<\/p>\n

Rustam Gasimov gained the gold with a lift of 253 kg (118+135). The silver medal went to Nurlan Mammadzadeh with a total of 230 kg (100+130), while the bronze medallist Samir Askerzadeh registered at 218 kg (98+120).<\/p>\n

The aim of the championship is increasing and improving the athletes’ skill level, qualifying athletes who are technically trained and fulfilling their degree norms, determining the composition of National teams, preparing for the upcoming international competitions.<\/p>\n
