On July 22-29, European Weightlifting Championship, among young boys and girls U15-17, continues in Milan, Italy. The tournament, which will be attended by 388 athletes from about 40 countries (169 girls and 219 boys), has the license character to the III Youth Olympic Games, to be held in Buenos-Aires, Argentine.<\/p>\n

Two members of the Azerbaijan National Team got on the platform. In 56kg weight category, Fuad Hasanov and Elshan Mammadov tested their powers among U-15 boys.<\/p>\n

Fuad Hasanov took the 2nd place in snatch with 92kg result. In clean and jerk, he won silver medal with 110kg result.<\/p>\n

In the final rankings of European Championship, Fuad was silver medalist with a total of 202kg (92+110) result.<\/p>\n

Elshan Mammadov, who won a bronze medal in the European championship in Prishtina, Kosovo last year, got on the highest step of the honorary chair this time.<\/p>\n

Our athlete lifted 98kg result in snatch and 114kg result in clean and jerk. He surpassed all his competitors and was named the best of Europe.<\/p>\n

Mammadov got on the highest step of honorary chair with a total of 212kg (98+114) result in the final rankings of European Championship.<\/p>\n

So, two weightlifters in this weight category won 3 gold and 3 silver medals and reached the top of Europe.<\/p>\n
